After the groundbreaking sale of Porn.com for $9.5 million back in early 2007 (the single largest domain name sale to date), Porn.com is finally live. The parent company MXN Ltd. took its time developing the site to perfection, and their careful efforts definitely show through the well-made site that is perfect for the porn scene in 2008.
According to the May 14, 2007 press release on MXN Ltd.’s website, it said that Porn.com plans to offer a “multiplicity of premium products and services that will solidify PORN.COM as the web’s leading adult portal.” We see now that their product line is impressive indeed. Porn.com is a combination of the following:
- Porn blog
- Live cams
- Porn tube
- Thumbnail gallery
- Pay site
- Video-On-Demand DVDs
- Porn star database
Porn.com has taken the first step in the industry for the new adult portal of the future. The above elements make it a very attractive website for visitors looking for both free and premium porn.
I love how Porn.com’s tube site integrates back into itself. The videos on its tube site are not free-standing videos scraped randomly or user-uploaded amateur content just sitting there as free jerk-off content. Rather, they are short teasers for Porn.com’s own DVD sales and pay-site subscriptions. I am impressed by how every piece of the Porn.com website is meticulously put together to make what is sure to be a formidable contender for the internet’s leading porn portal.
Claiming to be the “World’s Largest Porn Site,” even though it is a bit early to claim such a blatant title, you can’t overlook Porn.com’s powerful domain name that attracts tens of thousands of visitors just through type-in traffic.
One additional note: Porn.com’s logo says it’s still in the “beta” phase. I’m excited for what Porn.com will offer once it becomes a stable release. Will this mark the downfall of the inferior porn tube sites that are aching for a proper business model?
