Website: NSFW Reddit
Parent Company: Reddit
Overview:
Just like its mainstream counterpart, NSFW Reddit allows users to bookmark their favorite webpage and let them loose for others to vote up or down. This is an extremely useful filter for surfers looking for free porn to navigate through all the spam and crap. The content on NSFW Reddit is dynamically changing every moment and you can usually find really good porn on the basis of what others are recommending on the “what’s hot” front page.
NSFW Reddit was originally formed to separate the “Not Safe For Work” content from the main Reddit website. The regular Reddit is what you browse while you’re at work, and you can switch to NSFW Reddit when you return home and put your wife and kids to sleep.
But there’s a feeling of abandonment on NSFW Reddit, kind of like the dusty wind blowing through a ghost town. Considering that Reddit’s main website is one of the most popular websites, it’s strange to see that NSFW Reddit doesn’t see more activity. If you check the “new” page, you’ll see that there are only about 5 new webpages that have been added in the past 24 hours.
Furthermore, one of the first disappointments you should notice on NSFW Reddit is that it’s lacking the drive of social collaboration to filter out spam. On Reddit’s main website, low-quality or spammy webpages never even make it close to the front page because they are immediately down-voted by vigilant users. You wouldn’t believe how fast they are — all it takes is 30 seconds for another active user to make or break your added webpage. However, compare this to NSFW Reddit, where I see a spammy TGP with only 1 point on the #3 spot on the front page.
Also, one of the core features of Reddit is comments, where users discuss the webpage. Usually these are full of humor and witty insight. We rarely see much of that on NSFW Reddit. Are people just more hesitant to discuss raunchy sex on a public domain?
We truly wish more porn webmasters would take advantage of leveraging NSFW Reddit to make it a more fun place. It has so much potential not just for the users but also for the porn industry. In the mainstream world, they have something called “digg-worthy content.” This refers to webpages that are viral enough to make it to the front page of digg, which is very similar to Reddit. With a greater presence of these social bookmarking sites in the porn world, we should promote the creation of digg-worthy porn, which would naturally be better porn. You can already see some hints of this on NSFW Reddit with article titles such as “Test your big boobs knowledge” and “The Worst Santa Girls 2007: more than 100 pics.”
